Easy 4 hour drive on the I-5 today. Arrived at our KOA at about 1pm. After having a lunch and setting up the trailer we drove a short distance to Old Sacramento. Wooden sidewalks and many restored buildings dating back to the 1850's. Area is much like Gastown. We went to an interesting historical museum, had a shaved ice in a soda shop and just …

This was the first time we had been to a restaurant where we were asked if wanted valet parking so we did feel we had gone up in the world slightly! We were all puzzled at what a super place was doing in a rather depressed area of Sacramento but perhaps we were just at the start of some urban ...

... Deighton, a Geordie seaman, steamboat captain and barkeep who arrived in 1867 to open the area's first saloon." However, my theory is that the town hall was located there and the term memorializes the emanations from its inhabitants. Take your pick.
Gripe of the day: The large number of oblivious California drivers hugging the left lane of the expressway as if their lives depended upon it.
