    ... and I handled our first major motorcycle emergency. We kept calm and took care of it and got back on the road - that's what you've gotta do. So far, so good with the new battery and voltage regulator.

    By the time we got to North Conway, NH it was nearly 6 pm. We checked in at the Fox Ridge Resort and settled in, then Phil and I went to grab a bite to eat and get fuel for the next morning's ride to Maine.

    ... one car at a time. This made for some nerve testing moments, especially since this is the only road up/down the mountain!
    Imagine two cars passing with a fraction of an inch between their side mirrors and a steep drop down with no barrier at the edge of the road! But don't let that scare you!
    If you get the chance to take the road to the top by all means do it! The views are breath-taking and will afford everyone a zen-like experience.

    ... of about 5 shops, we found a little cafe and ordered a coffee and a salad.

    With several hours still to kill before the 4PM check-in time, we took a drive up the road to North Conway; the much bigger brother and home to an outlet village as well as numerous outdoor and skiing stores, the Conway Scenic Railway, lots of eateries and the very unique Zeb's General Store.     ... hotel desk person suggested Salty Seadog Brewing Co. It's obviously a local haunt and when we walked in everyone sitting at the bar stopped talking and looked at us. I couldn't hear Deliverance playing so I thought we were safe. After a 5 minute wait for our table our waiter blew us away with his service and attention. I had a Sea Dog beer and Sue had a cocktail called Ruby Red. It took me back to the 1950's when The Kingston Trio had a song called Ruby Red. I tried to ...
