... Hilton this morning confirming my accommodation in Ca and Utah for next week – pleased because of the noon checkouts – oh my I need a lie in.
I did not have much time in Halls gap so I had to scoot around a couple of places quickly before hitting the road. I have spent the best part of two weeks working my way across Southeast Australia and away from Sydney. As my flight back to Welly is from Sydney I kinda ...
Can't believe how early we had to get up this morning - 3:30am NZ time (which is 1:30am Aus time) to get to the airport.
But it was all good. Watched the Twilight movie on the plane on the way home and now i cant wait to see New Moon!
Coming through customs in Australia was funny as i had to go in the high security line due to my Maouri souviner that i brough back with me that is classified as a weapon. I was just glad that Border Security wasnt there to film me haha.

Sunday we pretty much just all hung out all day, chilled.. And then road trip to Wangaratta! Now the name "Wangaratta" you gotta say really slappy, kind of American, like “Waangaradda” lol. It’s a little city out in the country of Victoria – yes, the first time I actually went to the country! And no, after six weeks in Australia I still haven’t seen a live kangaroo. Although we did go on a ...
... roads. It didn't even possess a park (what's this?! A country town without a park? Unheard of!) so we ended up sitting on the tables outside the cheese factory and bought some of their food to complement our picnic lunch of dinner's leftovers.
The Milawa cheese factory turned out to be a big complex of cheese tasting and purchasing, bakery and cafe, with a small chocolate section as well. Bliss! The bread looked so good I wanted ...

My uncle told me a little more about the AUDAX organisation - I'd always assumed it was an Australian group given the first two letters of the name, but apparently it's from the latin word for 'bold' which makes sense, given English still has the word 'audacity'. The organisation started at the turn of last century in Europe where a team of riders would all set out on trips of a certain length and endevour to ride at the pace set by their leader ...
... phone numbers, and I may catch up with Jason and co again in Queensland, as they will be heading up that way at much the same time as I will. The other couple also offered me a place to stay in their house, should I be in the neighbourhood later in the year, and it struck me as bizarre that I could have a weird conversation about ghosts, and be invited to someone's house (by a non-Christian), and a weird conversation about coffee, and be effectively told to go away (by a Christian).
Wodonga, Victoria, Australia wherever... time I actually found the park, it was pitch black, and this was, (actually a good thing) the reason why I saw an abundance of wildlife driving along this road, including the koala and owls!!
After Sale, I stayed at Paradise Beach for 2 nights, which is part of 90 mile beach. This was utterly beautiful, with miles and miles of endless sand, and that delightful ocean roar lulling one to sleep. I decided to take the day off, and sit around on the beach drinking an alcoholic ...
... to speak to about looking for a job! =) We then drove on to Melbourne. Here our map troubles reallly started. The one we've got which only shows major roads was a waste of time.. and Melbourne doesn't seem to have any signs to point out where things are until you are actually there, so if you need a turn off you find out as you go past it. We got to the caravan site we were looking for after about an hour and paid the 40$ for the site (That's ...
Wodonga, Victoria, Australia christinauk... for making purchases. At most places you could buy and open the bottles, but you had to provide your own corkscrew. We were prepared and after opening our first bottle, let a person borrow our $2.25 corkscrew. Well, she opened her bottle and passed it on to her group of friends who broke our corkscrew and then ran! They didn't even have the courtesy to give back the pieces. Hilarious! Oh well. That's why we had a cheap one. And honestly, all I really needed ...
Rutherglen Wine Region, Australia aussiewilkins... like my Nanny (if my Nanny had long hair that she never brushed and wore a poncho) approached us with her sales pitch: "Fresh marujuana cookies with a lovely strong hashish centre for you sir?". This happened about every 5 metres or so. Occassionally the sales person would be a young lad with a shifty expression but, more often than not, it was a OAP wearing a kaftan. To escape this harassment we found a pub and there we wiled away the afternoon with another ...
