Slow down day. Drizzly day. Did some laundry while J & K went for a morning hike.  J&D are hiked out! .......for now. We did take an easy walk to town, stopped at a thrift store and saw our first moose.... Tonight packing and planning tomorrow's ...

Great weather 60s and sunny. North to the Basin State Park where we hiked in a little, all paved. Took a neat pic on a tree hanging over the river. (Where is that picture Jamie? We don't have it!) Then we drove the loop to Conway and back. Along the way we stopped at ...

Courtesy of Kristen, she and I spent the day in a class at King Arthur Flour about an hour + from Lincoln to learn how to bake 'beautiful baguettes'. What fun and so much to learn (for me!). Had lunch in their cafeteria..yummy soup... Then we shopped a little in their gift shop. Guys were busy too....golfed 18 holes for the day. Came home, picked up some dinner food and made pasta with salad and TONS of baguettes. I think we ate almost all 10 of them in 2 ...

... the way around the pond! That didn't stop us, no sir! Felt like Daniel Boone blazing a trail on the side of the hill trying not to roll down into the lake! Our trailblazer got us through and of course our photographer took a group shot of our success. Back on the trail and the fastest hike you ever saw back to the truck. We took no food and little water with us...30 min. hike, remember? The sandwiches and beer was calling us and we practically ran the trail back. Oh, did we enjoy ...

Hike to Artists Bluff and Mount Baldy

Started the a.m. with a group walk down along the river with some resort folks and a guide and to get some info as to what we need to see around here. First outing, a hike. Waaaayyy up. Lots of work but worth the climb.  Woods were dense and wonderful, pine smells and colors.  Big climb up rocks to reach Mt. Baldy.  What views...over looking the lake and the ski slopes. Coming down was more fun! Then off to Woodstock ...
