    ... up in Michigan. We also lost another hour, changing to the eastern time zone. On our way into town we stopped at a local gun shop to drop off our guns for safe keeping since we can't take them into Canada. After some last minute rearranging, packing and housekeeping we are heading to bed early so that we can head off to Canada in the morning.

    We left the monkey and all the joys of Morgan Co. KOA and headed to Frankenmuth, MI early Saturday. It was not a long drive so that was nice. It was 64 degrees and misty rain but it didn't slow us down. We passed a sign for the Gerald Ford Library in Ann Arbor with no time to stop.
    We did stop and fuel up the MH and Jim was excited to see that we are getting 8.9 mpg which is really good according to him. I'm happy if ...

    ... about the countless hours spent polishing and maintaining their gleaming bikes. I gave the leather motorcycle gloves to Kathy; they fit perfectly. Later in my day, I crossed the path of hundreds of motorcycles roaring in formation on their way to Akron.

    ... again, not to mention that the well for their water requires electricity.

    Nevertheless, seeing family was grand and all in all, things were not as bad as they might have been. If nothing else, the ice made for some absolutely fantastic winter landscapes. I only wish I'd discovered the "sparkle" mode on my camera in time to take some icicle pictures with it.
