I happen to have hit the leaf time perfectly... and tomorrow it promises to rain. Which would mean most of the leaves will be washing away.

Nice leaf ride this morning tomorrow off to the big trees as we head south. Photos of the old people in their natural habitat... my 'rents are doing great!

There was a bear up by the caveman, playing the snare drums along 6th street....

... it was about 50 outside!!! I scoured to internet to find somewhere that was open so we could get breakfast before exploring/hiking in the redwoods. We ended up at a diner called Peppers about 6 miles away. The food was fine but a little overpriced for a diner. We took off and decided to take the N entrance to the Ave of Giants and find a spot to hike.....we settled on a grove aabout half way down with a river hike.....until we found out it was under construction and was ill ...

... around 630. Sadly it didn't matter since it was still pitch dark out. We showered and joined the boys for continental bfast in the lobby with the other guests. It was a nice selection for a hotel breakfast..french toast, sausage links, hard boiled eggs (Nik Silver!), yogurt, cereals, toastables, pastries, juices and coffee. I settled for a mixed bowl of honey bunches of oats and frosted flakes and a muffin.

New tyre and riverside camping

... until it was ready and we got on our way. Heading out of town, we checked a few campsites, (even the state park, but apparently they only have 50 amp plug-ins) ending up with one with a riverside view. Once settled into our spot, we enjoyed the afternoon watching the river go by (and some strange boats, one of which had a pram in) and did some planning for the next few days. At around 6.30pm, we had some dinner watching the sun get lower ...
