After a good night's sleep, we headed out towards Salt Lake City in Utah. We were in a hurry because we had an 11:00 am appointment in Salt Lake City for an oil change for our beloved little van.

We are going to go to the mexican restaurant joined to the hotel for dinner to heat us up from the inside and prey that the snow does ease up over night so the roads dont get closed in the morning so we can head to idaho ...

A travel blog entry by modernnomad67 on Jan 28, 2012

... pictures sometimes display an iron chain as a "Wyoming Windsock". Well, from about the state line on U.S. 287 to Laramie and then again on I-80 west of Laramie around Eagle Mountain the wind was blowing so hard I thought my Jeep might get blown off the road. The blowing snow on the road created a so-called ground blizzard that made the going very slow.

I got into Rock Springs somewhat after dark, which is not necessarily a bad thing. ...
