    Birgitta -

After a good night's sleep, we headed out towards Salt Lake City in Utah. We were in a hurry because we had an 11:00 am appointment in Salt Lake City for an oil change for our beloved little van.

But first we crossed the salt flats, which was another world altogether: http://www …

Wyoming is notorious for its wind, especially so in the open grasslands in the southeastern part of the state, so much so ...

    The high country

... an area where there were snow patches on the ground at highway level but far away in the hills. At some place west of Laramie on Hwy I-80, as I was thinking about the book 'My Friend Flicka' which was set in the Snowy Range west of Laramie and was one of my favorite girlhood books, I crossed the Continental Divide at 7,000 feet. I told Scooter it was all downhill from that point westward. He didn't seem impressed, but I was because it really felt as though I was on ...
