... we waited for Randy and Megan. They only lived a few miles away. Our bed-time choices included a separate bedroom, a pull-out couch and a floor mattress ... I used my "senior leverage" to pick the bedroom ... but we were all very thankful to have an air-conditioned home to sleep in!

Randy's dinner was phenomenal ... steak covered with shrimp was the main entrée!

... important of all was that we fulfilled Sheila's wish of stopping at Maid Rite for a sandwich. Sheila and her friends would frequent Maid Rite when the kids were young and they wanted to go out.

We picked up the coach at about 5pm and headed back to camp. Tomorrow is an off day - not much to do.

... leaving the main freeway and taking a lesser road - the area we passed through was again a cropping area, with soy beans joining corn as the crops! The farms and houses were lovely and it was obviously a prosperous region.

... river made a green ribbon through some dry land, with the occasional watering of farm land giving a green splash to an area.
