    Tennessee Trip

    Days One and Two, April 12 & 13, 2015

Well, it's not actually Day One of our trip as we left Kinston on Thursday, April 9 to go to Raleigh for the Spring Invitational Horse Show. When we got up Thursday morning it was raining. We both had haircuts, mine at 8:00 and Jerry’s at 9:00. We were packed except …

    Monday, April 13

Monday morning we got up, had our morning coffee and discussed where we would spend the day. We elected to head out to Cades Cove but had no idea how to get there except to head toward Gatlinburg. I couldn't find any addresses for the Visitors Center so we just headed on. Tiredness got the better of us, so we headed back, watching the fire works as we drove back to our ...

We briefly debated going to the train ride in Bryson City but we all slept in a little late after last night and it would have been a rush to get there in time. We ended up getting a late start (shortly after noon) but headed out on the bikes because we came here to ride after all. We got in almost ...

Lots of Pictures- Get a feel for the road. I took I 77 west to the tunnel which crossed into West Virginia and took SR-598 to Bluefield where you see the first great vista. 598 hits 19 s to Tazweil where Rt. 16 starts, "The Back of the Dragon". Wow what a ride. I followed 16 to Rt. 58 at the Log Cabin Store in the pictures. Rt. 58 was a surprise because I was expecting rolling curves and country riding ...
