Waking up early in the morning with the sound of the waves crashing on the beach was a great experience for us. In fact it inspired us to put on our running gear and go for a quick jog on the beach. We arrive at The Ancient Redwoods RV Resort and the first thing we see is the Redwood Truck. Very Cool! We set up and settle in. Then, we see a woman walking a large poodle and realize our friends from Nature Coast Landings, Linda and Vaughn, are staying in the same park! They tell us that another couple from NCL, Tina and Danny, are also there. What are the chances of this happening. That night we had a great time ...
... is warm, the dog is free to roam at will and there isn't a panhandler in sight. We will, however, have to give this whole episode some serious thought. Our usual support and empathy for th eppor and downtrodden has run headlong into our need for comfort and safety and we're both feeling a bit perplexed. Oh well, for now the pool and bright California sunshine await before an early dinner and an earlier night.
... and there was a lighthouse and something called Avenue of the Giants, which I think has something to do with Redwoods, AND the redwood tree you can drive through!! All missed because it was dark and late. :( I guess I'll have to come back for that too...Oh well. What's traveling without a little adversity!
Tonight is my last night in California, off to Oregon tomorrow! And I'll write another post tomorrow morning about what did all day today that made me so stinkin late...
