... colony, we saw a few babies, it wasn’t the best time year to visit. In this part of NZ you get these funny flightless birds that look like Kiwi’s, they come right up to you, we saw loads of them in fact we had to swerve to the other side of the road to miss one!

As we walked through the rain forest, we kept glimpsing turquoise water through the trees, it was so blue, and it was like a swimming pool. We had our first proper look at a lookout point and the colour was just amazing. Then we crossed a swing bridge and had more great views. Another short walk brought us to another viewpoint. Even in the rain, it was amazing.

I think I may have actually pushed because shortly after that photo op, I assumed a familiar squatting and slightly worried look which signals to daddy that I had an urgent offering to the porcelain gods.
