Rainbow Valley Lodge Santa Elena

... neblig und seeeehr feucht! Lebewesen haben wir zwar einige gesehen, aber leider keine herzigen Kapuzineraeffchen oder Tukane. Es kommt auch fast niemand (ausser uns) im November nach Costa Rica, da es immer noch Regenzeit ist und die meisten Tiere sich verkriechen. Das Gute ist natuerlich, dass wir den ganzen Regenwald (310 Hektaren) fuer uns hatten :-)

We hiked up to La Ventana, which on a clear day provides a view of the Continental Divide and a view of both the Pacific and the Caribbean Oceans. ... white testicles on the alpha male), and, perhaps most entertaining, a Peccary pig named Charlie, who is something of a pet at the reservation. Charlie took an immediate liking to me, apparently because he enjoys the smell (and taste!) of the bug spray with which I doused my bare ankles, and followed us around the entire tour. It got old after about ten minutes, especially when he came back to lick me and burrow between my knees after rolling in the mud ...

... she was literally drenched head to toe!! I took a quick nap later in the afternoon to find that it was still raining cats and dogs. I heard the roads were closed but confirmed with the owner that it wasn't actually. I really hope this rain stops cuz I want to go to a restaurant to get food. I'm sitting here wearing a long sleeved shirt and jeans. never thought I would be doing this in costa rica! at around 8:30 pm ...
