Tomorrow we do states. We finish Missouri after Joplin, we then get into Kansas but not for long and then by tomorrow evening we hope to be either in Tulsa, Oklahoma or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is apparently where the Route really starts to get interesting as Oklahoma is the state where the person that thought up the Route came from so they celebrate it a lot more there.

It was a pleasant traveling day with arrival in Joplin about 3:30 p.m. As we arrived in Joplin there were several trucks and cars ditch parking causing us to Thank the Lord for safe passage. The Joplin area had rain and then 3 inches of snow while we were sleeping like Babes in Toyland.

Left St Louis crossed the Mississippi River not much corn growing here more beans. Wee are using a Garment GPS to get directions on where Route 66 is. The GPS is always trying to send us back onto the highway. Some times we come to. An intersection the Route 66 sign points left the GPS says go right, very easy to get lost. No one on the road for miles. The worry is getting turned around and ending up back in Chicago. Heading into Kansas ...
