... said we needed to be ready to leave by 1pm! I finished my ironing, dressed and at 12:30 we were headed north about 45 minutes for a birthday party for Anita’s 50 year old GRANDSON! A nice place in the country and 30+ people. A GREAT meal - the very best baked beans, potato salad and BBQ ribs! Plus many other dishes. We are getting close, friends!

Just 5 more days until I take off for Cameroon for 5 weeks. I fly out next Wednesday, May 28th at about 10:30AM to Chicago. From Chicago to Brussels, Belgium and from Belgium to Yaounde, Cameroon on Thursday May 29th at 8:45PM (Cameroon time) which is 12:45PM Pacific Standard Time.

Seattle's King Street station is an impressive building. Ornate stuccoed ceilings and a campanile resembling the one in Venice. Pity Amtrak's organisation wasn't so first class.
