You park from alternating sides of the road so you end up looking at your neighbours car! Noisy road and even when the park isn't busy they pack you all in one area. Weird!

All was fine except that the parking areas were dirt, so if wet then it is muddy.

      Comfortable spot just through town

Friendly staff (2 very efficient and knowledgable women). Has all the facilities you could want. Service station next door. Located 1-2km from town centre (over the bridge). The hotel next door (about 300 metres walk) has very good food, although fairly pricey. Don't take the kids! It is possible to stumble over there in the dark, just watch out for the prickles in the grass if you decide to go cross-country!!

On the way here yesterday we were joking about the tiny
little white clouds being menacing and the big storm that we were in for. The
joke ended up being on us, because at about 1am – just when I had made the trek
over to the toilet block – came the thunder and lightning, followed closely by
      some heavy rain. So …

We arrived in Port Augusta about 11am this morning. We did a bit of shopping and walked around the edge of town and back to the jetty. It was a very nice view out to the Ayer peninsular across the water and in the other direction are the flinders ranges. We arrived at the caravan park and it was basically empty but now it's chocas full. Almost hit …

Today we got up and quickly had breakfast. Then just Mum, Dad, Thomas, Alison and I got in the car and left for Whyalla to go on the steel smeltering tour while Nan, Grandpa and Julia stayed back at the caravan park because Julia was too young and Nan and Grandpa had already been on the tour before. The tour was about the history from when the …

Today we got up, had breakfast, packed up the caravan and left at 8:30 am to go to Port Augusta. On the way we went to the giant red gum tree, which was a huge, it was a 500 year old tree, that made Julia look very small in size. We also went though Horrock's Pass which was a steep and bushy drive across the mountain range. When we arrived we set …

Today we got up and had breakfast, then played and relaxed for about an hour. Afterwards we left for the Pichi Richi railway station where Julia, Thomas, Mum and Dad boarded the steam train. Nanny, Grandpa, Alison and I were on the station waving or taking photos as we are going to be in the train for the return trip. We followed the train all the …
