        Heading SOUTH for Alaskan Caravan

As we are heading from home to the South, I remark to Michael how weird it is that we are going south for our journey to Alaska. Meeting up with dozens of airstream trailers and their owners for 3 days of frolicking in Pismo Beach. Bordered to the east by the Santa Lucia Mountains and the west by the Pacific Ocean, it’s traversed by narrow, 2-lane State Route 1, known for winding turns, seaside cliffs and views of the often-misty coastline.
        Rock 'n roll.

... is a lovely mission here. Worth stopping by the harbor for a great view. Continue on to Pismo beach. We stayed at the sea crest hotel. Lovely hotel - ask for an ocean view room. BYO a bottle of champagne to the fire pits and sit having a drink over looking the ocean! Amazing! For dinner head to ventana grill! Reasonably priced and the beast chicken wings I've ever had! If your still hungry get the fondue platter for ...

He commissioned this house to be built in 1919 and it took 28 years to complete, partially because the location is 5 miles straight up rocky terrain and partially because he kept re-designing. This ranch was self sustaining raising free range beef, vegetables & fruits. Of course the art, fine tapestries, gold inlays, 2 pools, movie theater, ...
