    Had a perfect travel day yesterday. Actually got away early, 8:45, and had beautiful cold clear weather all day. It was only once we got close to Portland that we saw any snow at all and there it was only deep in the bush. But shortly after we stopped for the night the snow started. It looks like we got about 3" overnight. Luckily we're heading south! Had great Chinese food last night. Who knew we'd find it in Maine! Here's what morning looked like - winter ...

    ... there would be more than 5 watching the midnight ones.... !
    We made friends with another couple who were locals and they were sure we were in the right place too. So, midnight struck.... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Silence. oh hang on, whats that.... far in the distance, behind all the buildings? That'd be the fireworks I am guessing.....!!!! Not quite the midnight we expected, but that's ok..... we were together in Boston and and that's all that is important ...

    ... The waitress was lovely and funny which made the night even better. 'There isn't a starch I've met that I didn't like'.... the menu sides included fingerling potatoes, fries, roast potatoes, rice, potato salad and mashed potato! They were the only options for sides... no vegetables or anything. Just starch. I had TWIN lobsters for tea! 2 whole lobsters for $37! 2 lobsters steamed are only about 300 calories! Dad you really would love the lobster!! So ...

    ... shops and a small harbour. We are in one if the seafront restaurants and took a short walk around the coast by oarweed cove. We then cycled back and stopped off at ogunquit beach had a paddle in the sea then an ice cream. Cycled back and dropped the bikes back had a chat with the owner of the rental shop about the unusual weather before returning to our room and collapsing!! Hot weather and a long bike ride wiped us ...
