Soon after our last entry, we crossed the border into Portugal. Not far from the border lies the town of Viana do Castelo, our destination. We arrived prepared to camp. Our expectations were not high after our Pamplona eurotrash campsite. However, we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived to find a campsite filled with old growth pine trees, sand, wind-surfers, and kite boarders. Needless to say, they were there for the beach that was at the doorstep of the campsite -- a gorgeous, uncrowded be...
Évora, Alentejo, Portugal ryanandpatti... plastic bottles around the edges. They were obviously expecting stormy weather. They left great heaps of rubbish all over the site.
We visited Aveiro the nearest town which lived up to its publicity we took the one photograph of their famous boats which was all the brochure had to offer.
We have become a novelty attraction as there are no other British around. After the activities of the weekend we moved on.
... looked like there was no order to the waves and they were crashing all over the place. The sea looked angry that day my friends. The next day, we spotted some surfers and set out to rent some boards but all the surf shops were closed (because all the owners were out surfing). The super cheap ghetto tourist shops that sell **** were open, so we opted for 2 hardcore boogie boards ...
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal sofenjon... a corner store and 3- no one speaks English, and we mean NOBODY! We are adapting o.k. to the language barrier though. By the time we get home we be able to sign up for the grand championship of charades. The kids are doing really well and often suggest that we check our "porch- a- knees" (as Cohen calls it) book if we don't know a word. We even feel like rock stars here. I don't think the ...
Granja, Portugal patry... and their son, Zélito. José Martins has an inoperable heart condition, and his wife is struggling with health. José is one of the few laborers that we do have in the Portuguese language and has been very helpful in the translation and review of United Church of God booklets into Portuguese. I appreciated his labor of love and their gracious hospitality.
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal jorgedecamposIt's to happen. We missed our train to Porto so we are waiting for the next one wich is at 6.17. Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal portorykoThere are only two days left for our trip. It seems that for half of it I am going to travel alone as my french friend needs to come back to write an exam. We didn't found any accomodation in Frankurt and in Rome so we are going probably to stay in a hostel (still working on it). Anyway we've been already lucky so we cannot be in a whole :) ________________________ Music: Elsa Soares - Mas que nada
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal portorykoIt's seems that we are lucky. Today we got a response from girl in Bratislava so still need just two places to stay. Hope we will find them as quick as this ones :) What is more I'm now trying to get some informations in the internet about places which we should see. As I wrote before we won't use any guide besides ones in real. Music: Camiel - Take me to this place
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal portoryko... sajandit kahanes elanike arv 2/3 võrra; täna elab seal ca 56 500 inimest. 1808. a raius Barra kanal tagasi tee ookeanini ning Aveiro hakkas taas jalgu alla võtma.
Aveiro, Beiras, Portugal pille... find the time to see the convent and nothing else. It was well worth my time, though, I am glad I chose to let this destination be decided by luck. Days 11-13 - Leiria Driver's inertia - that is the worst hitch-hiker's enemy. Most common people feel uncomfortable when they go out of the ordinary, so it is much easier for them to stick to the plans. That is why it is advisable to hitch-hike on a long straight section of a road with plenty of side space for a car to pull ...
