... wooden platform through the forest so that we didn't have to slog through it and damage any of this incredible place. After our Tarzan expedition we completed our journey to Tofino were I have to say initially we were slightly disappointed. ... from the bakery in town. Then off to explore the other section of Wild Pacific Trail. This is right on the end of the Ucuelet peninsula and offers breath taking views over the rocks and out to sea. Even with the fog rolling in, now quite heavily, the views were impressive. ... the regrowth out of winds and the forces of nature. Once again Nancy played in the little pool of water we came upon and found more stones, this time purple in Colour. Cider (Strong Bow), wine, a Cheap towel (for foot drying), and medication for my sore back were purchased in Port Alberni, our next stop along the route. ... was actually 7pm and the fish and chip truck was closed so we went to a recommended restaurant. We made a later booking as they were full when we arrived, and hence did a walk around the area before returning for tea. The aquarium had closed for the season but we did see it has local sea creatures and they release them all at the end of September. Our tea was very nice, and we then walked back to the motel. We then settled in for the evening with a books, TV and computers.

We were going on a bear hunt!

It takes about an hour to get to the the shores where the bears come down to feed. On the way, magestic bald headed eagles just sat and watched us and the world go by.

Our first siting was the cause of much excitement, a 2 year old male down by the shore, turning over stones to find little crabs. And then there was another, and another. Five in total. They are not a socialable ...
