... 220 feet to 2000 feet where the salmon were holding, waiting for rain. Because of the recent dry spell, the salmon have not been heading up the rivers, preferring instead to be staging out at sea. We fished in around 220 feet of water using downriggers with 18 pound weights on them and what I called skateboards as flashers with various hoochies (lures? they look kinda like squid or fish and are rubbery things) on them too. And we didn't have to wait too long ...
