... was hard enough over the very uneven rocky path. (Not much in the way of a decent photo though!) Today we wandered through the ruins of Olympos...one of many sites that go by the name! It was fabulous, close to the beach and a stream...the ruins were scattered through thick forest and in many places overgrown. Cirali is a small coastal town, but it has it's fair share of pensions, hotels and cafes. Lots of families wandering about...a great place to relax for a few ...

While in Antalya it was May 1 (Workers' Day) and there were plenty of spirited marches around the town ranging from Ataturk's party to communists. ... Tlos. There are so many old ruined cities around here - anyone interested in Greco Roman or Byzantine history would have a ball. To get to Tlos was about 10 Km return walk from where the bus dropped me, quite apart from walking all over the old city; a tiring day. I am in Finike right now where my new home is moored, though most of the pix are of Tlos and Antalya.

... believed he could not defeat Termessos due to their fortifications and location on the top of Solymos mountain. It is one on the best preserved ancient cities in Turkey. It stands at an elevation of 1665 metres above sea level. It was a 9 kilometre drive up to the parking lot and another 1 kilometre hike up to the site but it was worth it! It is not a very busy site so you can wander through endless ruins ...
