Another quiet day. Charly and I have a short rideout in the mountains around Kemer but K-H is unwell and so stays at home.

We stop and take a table at a shady cafe. There seems to be quite a lot of Jandarma (country police) around. In fact, an awful lot, mostly toting evil looking machine guns. It turns out it is the local cop shop so we don't get our cay, but we do get a lot of smiles ...

The road up to the Rivera Restaurant is appalling. It snakes up the mountain, all hairpins, ruts and loose gravel. It is not much fun going back down in the dark but we make it.

This couple has one of the coolest stories I’ve ever heard. We met them at breakfast one morning, spent the day with them at the beach, and that evening after a couple of rounds of back gammon and a couple of bottles of wine we decide to book a 4-day Blue Cruise down the coast together, netting a nice little discount.

... seating areas in the outdoor social area and wait out the muck. We meet Aussie Emma from our hostel in Goreme and some other Aussie climbers and enjoy the free dinner.

The next day we meet Tim and Rachel at breakfast, spend the day with them at the beach, scrambling over ruins and swimming, playing backgammon over wine, eventually booking a Blue Cruise down the coast together.
