Saint Augustine Beach has been our favorite stop so far on this trip. It was a little tricky to find and we made some wrong turns. This little highway (A1A) gets pretty tight in some spots in St Augustine, especially when pulling a 5th wheel. Then we went to the old fort, Castillo de San Marcos. This was built in 1695 to protect the town from pirate and other attacks. It was never captured by force. It was star shaped with walls constructed of limestone shell that wouldn't crack. And the walls were over 5m thick on the outside. It had a gun deck lined with canons and sentry posts and a mote.

... drove to the fort. It was a big building made out of stone. We went on top and it was a beautiful view but we got sent down because there was thunder and lightening. Then we walked and had a drink.
PS The fort was called Castillo de San Marcos and it's over 300 years ...
