... do a trolley tour of the area tomorrow. It rained all morning, so wandered off on foot just before midday. Firstly, followed a sign that said the beaches, but after a while it was apparent that the beaches were some distance away. Decided we would do these by car on our way out tomorrow. Turned around and went instead to the Old Gaol and Historic Museum. As I touched on previously, StAugustine is the oldest European settlement in North America. Or is it just the Gulf Stream or North Atlantic Drift as some know it.

We returned to shower and dinner in the Sunset Grille where we had Beers, Wine, Salad, Pasta and Chicken Parmigiana. Then we crossed the road to our hotel and went to bed at the end of another great ...

Fayetteville to Charleston to St. Augustine

A travel blog entry by lstoneham on Jan 21, 2013

After a last minute glitch with the RV back-up camera requiring a stop by McGeorge's, we headed off from the dreary land of Richmond to sunny Florida, stopping at Fayetteville KOA (uneventful) to St. James Island County Park in Charleston (wonderful), and finally to St. Augustine (Bryn Mayr Ocean Resort). The park in Charleston was wonderful--we'd stay there again. It had the best ...
