Route 6 - 300 miles across northern PA

Rte 6 is the 2nd longest continuous highway in USA; from Bishop, CA to Cape Cod. This PA scenic portion is 1 rolling hill after another with farm lands interspersed between forests, rivers, small towns of yesterday-year......and vista views of the fall foliage on every ridge. This "Endless Mountain" area part of the Allegheny Mountains is rich in Civil War, Native Indian, French Azilum settlement histories.....and currently a booming fracking area. Vivid fall colors explode over every ...

So the next day (Mon.) we were going to head up to Wes and Dixie's place but had to go an hour out of our way just to make a deposit and mail off our paperwork......(should be different next time) so we made it up to see the grand babies, 1st time we had spent time ...

Many great attractions with Pine Creek Trail nearby and the PA Grand Canyon. They have a nice Wellsboro Diner, The Steak House, and much more.

      ... down and back up.

After we finished up with the Turkey Path we checked out the store and then hiked the Overlook Trail. The Overlook Trail is only .6 miles, but does have some steep hills to hike down and back up. It is a loop trail that takes you out to the Otter View, a vista looking south down the canyon. Jared lied to all of us and told us that it was just a rim trail and was very flat and even. He was ...

... and I left without him! He got to Sweden Valley about an hour after we did. Bob and Ernie shared the "honeymoon" suite, which was a very large, old, smelly cabin with 4 beds in one room and a kitchen. More like a ranch hand's bunk house. I had a much smaller "bunk house", which was just as old and smelly. $75 a night, and ...
