Small easy RV Park in the Big Easy.

My two "w"s are covered by this cute little KOA just west of New Orleans. The washroom is clean and well equipped (bench in change area, hooks, etc) and is right outside my trailer. And the wifi is perfectly usable.

In addition, the staff are fabulous. From check in to patiently helping direct me while I butchered the job of backing in (to be fair to me, it was at an odd angle and a bit hard to get at), all was handled with good cheer. On top of that the help from front desk staff in getting oriented and hints on things to do here, and even booking tours for me was phenominal. Also they have a free shuttle to the French Quarter, the only downside of which is that it comes back at 6ish. So a later night is a $30 cab ride away. Still beats the price of staying at the RV Park in the French Quarter which is almost double the price.

Lovely park with great service and shady sites. A free shuttle bus runs into the French Quarter twice a day. Very quiet except for the trains at 1AM.

It was OK...seemed like a long ways from downtown but it was only 5 miles. It did freeze while we were there.

Nice but wet

The facility was very nice for a campground. Clean bathrooms, quiet at night, all the hookups you need. The only complaint I would have about the facility itself is that the tent sites need to have more grass on them. We basically had to set up camp on dirt because our patch of grass was tiny. Other than that it was fine.

The campground is very clean and well kept. The people are super friendly and the sites are nice and flat. Wish it were a little closer to New Orleans but would definitely stay again.

We had a great trip from Choudrant to New Orleans with 'new experiences' like driving over roads that had ONLY water under, to the right, and to the left of the elevated road bed.

Found great bar in Garden District that had $.50 oysters on the half...awesome. Burbon Street was a disappointment and Cemetary #1 very odd but cool!

We drove in yesterday with little fuss or bother. The campsite is a bit dated where we are parked, but the people are very accommodating and helped us plan our two days here.

One of the things the KOA people did for us was to make a reservation to take two hour trip on the Natchez steam-driven paddle wheeler. But before we …

Wow. That's the only thing that sums up New Orleans. One amazing city. Sorry, this is a long one tonight. And not as many pics as I'd like given the great material I had to work with, but the wifi is so slow it's taking just too long to upload. I'll go back and add some more down the road when I've got better wifi.

It was a very short trip today from Baton Rouge to New Orleans. Only 1.5 hours of easy driving, which is a very good thing since it was a rough night! After not being a happy camper about deleting my pics and so not dropping off to sleep until late, we had a whopping big thunderstorm with associated wind and torrential downpours. At about 2 am, …
