Oh this beautiful coast
... is getting warmer but we also had some glorious sunshine.
Then on to Belfast, which we reached after dark, for our night at the Harbor Inn - not as special as the previous two nights B&Bs (really more of a Motel but with a great view of the Harbour - maybe that's why they called it the Harbor Inn) but quite adequate. Restaurant across the way where I {Peter} indulged in lobster, again!

Pumpkin festival
... was 1332 lbs and I could probably fit inside it.
Many people and their pets dressed up as pumpkin. We saw a small child in the parade pulling Ina wagon the first pumpkin he ever grew which weighed 32 lbs. Very large pumpkins lined the streets and were decorated by the shops that they were infront ...
Camden & Rockport, Maine
Left Dave & Julie's about noon today, and they suggested we drive out to the coast and see the quaint little villages of Rockport and Camden, as we headed north towards Acadia National Park. Camden and Rockport were indeed pretty little coastal towns, but we didn't stop. We got such a late start, and we really wanted to make it to Bar Harbor before dark.

Had a reservation to stay with Dave & Julie in Jefferson, Maine at their home on Damariscota Lake. A wonderful couple and excellent hosts who have been Evergreen Members for about 7 years, and were so down to earth and comfortable to be with - like we'd known them for years. Monhegan Island
... sealife. Over spots, where dolphins were actively hunting for fish, Gannets plummeted into the sea, heads first, wings folded only at the last moment.
Moneghan Island has 17 miles of hiking trails and hardly any cars so it's a very relaxing place. We took the mailboat from Port Clyde and saw dolphins and seals on the way. The island itself is inhabited by artists, painters, writers ...
