... and the North Country Trail, it was a good choice. The walk-in tent sites were really nice as well since they were set back in the woods away from the main, open campground area. Although not a lot of trees in the main part of the campground, the sites on the water or woods areas were large enough that they give you privacy.

Well it was a nice day on the road. We restocked groceries and wine. The Super Walmarts have been great as we have been able to get everything we need. All the people have been very nice. It still is very hot and there is lots of construction. David seem to get the areas that say there is construction and ther a 2 workers smoking cigarettes while I have miles and miles of narrowed lanes. The Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park is one of Michigan's finest examples of good stewardship. The wilderness is wonderfully protected and wild enough to get lost for days within (though we didn't). We day hiked portions of the Escarpment Trail along the cliffbands overlooking the park.
