    ... t waste my time and money and would quit, no matter where I was. That was the closest I came to it, because while I've felt like quitting to some extent before, it's always been from the boredom and tedium of getting up every day and doing the same thing and the knowledge that I had months more of that to go, but I decided to stick it out at least until I got new shoes, and they fixed the problem.

    After Wind Gap, I headed to the town I had been waiting ...

    ... or so from the parking lot! George weighs 30 lbs. This was NOT going to work. Unless, we could park the car in the FIRE LANE which was only about 50 feet from the sign. I don't know what the Park Ranger thought of George but he let us do it. I suspect he was thinking something like "Just give the crazy people what they want and they'll leave."

    Then we parked on the street downtown and scouted for lunch. ...

    ... enjoyed a great day together.

    My boat crew was made up of a Vietnam era Marine (yellow PFD), two Army Reserve CGOs (two in the middle) and a Airman (back left behind bucket) who worked in Iraq as a Combat Controller before leaving the service. His wife (far left front) was also with us.

    ... Diorama a visit to the Battlefield will be much more appreciated. We did a self-guided driving tour of the Battlefield. It took a good 5 hours to go through the Battlefield and was well well worth it. Absolutely spectacular. While in the wide open landscape of the battlefield, you envision the troops marching up the hills in front of you. This is something that everyone should see/do.

    ... The Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, which we saw yesterday. There are a few very nicely preserved locomotives and a few rail cars that one can get close to, but there isn't nearly as much on display as there was at Strasburg. However, there are some very nicely done displays that show how things work and are very educational. All in all, it was a very good day. We're about to head out for dinner, so I'll sign off until tomorrow. ...
