There are other kikachews that
live in the woods and come over to eat banannas at night, but Rocky
lives in a cage. He was captured as a baby and was not cared for very
nicely. The L&F rescued him. They keep him in a large and
comfortable cage. Unfortunately, he never learned to take care of
himself in in the wild. The last time he took a walk about he got beat
up pretty ...

Around 10 a.m., when we all awoke, the
men went out to the nearby crops and picked green beans and corn,
which they used to make a thick soup with rice. The hot sun blazed in
the sky, but the hot soup was filling and much appreciated. Around
noon when the tide was right ...

Happiness never decreases by being shared

... is about a 15 minutes taxi ride out of town back towards David. The kids range from infants to 12 or 13 years old and are there for a number of different reasons-no parents, given up for adoption or in protective care. To them, the language barrier doesn't exist. All they want is a little attention and affection; someone to push them on the swing or play soccer with. We weren't allowed to take photos for legal reasons, but ...

... particularly grateful for considering he had waited three days to do the tour. The guy that owns the coffee plantation went organic about 9 years ago when some German ecologists came to the Chiriqui area in Panama to teach them about farming organically and the bad things that pesticides do to the land. Now, nine years later, Coenje is officially organic, using some "mad scientist" ways to prevent pests on his orchards and coffee plantations. He does not know the ...

Add it to the list babe! ;)

Tonight we dined at our ranch’s restaurant. The chef is American and about our age and really talented. We’re going to go on a horseback ride with him and another guest tomorrow morning. Tonight we had a salad of ...

Purple rain

... You move anywhere and start sweating, and as its humid you just run everywhere. You don't feel like eating much and you get dizzy and are listless. So David is fun filled and I urge all people to check it out. Booyah.

Yes I got my legs waxed, messily and with the ladies all talking in Spanish (what else would they do smartypants...wow, talking to yourself is the next effect of the heat is it? Yes, yes it is) as I sat there for ages. I found out Shane waited ...

... the trail heads mostly downhill for about 9km before reaching the road back to Boquete, a mere 12km away. The walk itself was amazing, beautiful scenery looking out over the cloudforest, in the middle of the jungle. We were the only people on the trail that day, I think. No one else had signed the book anyway. The trail is rightly closed as there are two huge landslides that have completely swept away part of the ...

Back to school!

... things about it, so that should be cool. And in other news.... my travelling life is now complete. I now have the most essential piece of equipment anyone could ever need...... BALSAMICO! It livens up everything and is just delicious. I´m happy now. I should also mention my devotion to my ipod, I´m so glad I brought it. So I should probably go now and get the bus and whatnot.... I hope you are all keeping well, it´s good to hear from you all. And come on England this week!

... rooms. The views are awesome. You can see the Pacific ocean, and the island of Boca Brava where we just came from. You can also see David (where the airport is), Volcan Baru (we stayed near there in Boquete), and during the clearer parts of the day you can see the mountains of Costa Rica. Monika is a rockstar. Not only has she bushwacked miles of trails, but she has a fabulous garden and takes extra special care to make sure each of her ...

... it just looks like a robot with a willy, but there we go. As we were on one of the hikes, which trailed through plantain farms and cloudforest on the side of the volcano, we could hear the howler monkeys...this is quite a scary sound!! Apparently they're the loudest animals in the world, with their calls being heard miles away from where the actually are. To me they sound like Zombies roaring, to Mark they sound like Lions. Anyone who knows me will know that another fear ...
