It's raining again...
Unser heutiger Ausflug auf den Misen-Berg wäre beinahe ins Wasser gefallen. In der Nacht auf heute begann es heftig zu regnen und die Schauer hielten bis am Nachmittag an. Eine Wanderung auf den Berg schien aussichtslos, denn die Wasserfestigkeit der Regenbekleidung wurde schon bei einem kurzen Spaziergang durch das Städtchen auf die Probe gestellt. So machten wir es uns zunächst im Hotel gemütlich, badeten, lasen, dösten… Als der Himmel dann irgendwann ...

Hiroshima: Maddeningly profound
... m not the biggest fan of okonomiyaki sauce--it's a bit too sweet for me, but here they also provided some wasabi mayo, which when combined with some ginger had enough bite to really work with the Hiroshima-yaki. Not to wax poetic about lunch, but it was really filling and really needed, especially coming out of the rain. Food and a show, what else do you need, right?

... along the way. Anyway we did change trains at the next station and did the last hour of the journey back to Kyoto without incident.
Kyoto has been really good and we thoroughly recommend the Shimizu Ryokan as a great place to stay in the area and get a good feel for living Japanese style.
We are now back on the Shinkansen train on our way back to Tokyo, we got on the right train today so no problems with the ticket ...
