Well it's the first day being temporarily unemployed. Feels weird knowing I won't be going back to the hospital to work. Got a lot accomplished. My passport arrived finally. We got the hitch installed and the trailer reserved. We got to spend the morning with sweet friends and their 12 horses and numerous cats. Had a blast feeding carrots and apples to the horses. I'm sure going to miss these wonderful ...

Day 7: Pigeon Forge is a kids' Vegas

The Sleep Inn was simple, newly renovated, and the price was right. Best part - they accommodated my little doggy who hung out in the room while we were at Wonderworks. Sitting on the rocks, the water looked tempting. We had seen someone swimming earlier. Then Thao spotted a rope swing across the lake and convinced me to swim across with her. We were in t-shirts and shorts...but decided to brave it anyway. The water turned out to ...

    Day 4: All about riding!

A travel blog entry by elainesj on Jul 16, 2014

Day 4: Riding at Nantahala Village Riding Stables. $22/hr. Motorcycle rental at Sportsbike4rent. $79/4hrs.

We set off early at 9am while the Lys slept in. When we got there (30mins away), we were told that they were all booked up and we could book for the next day. Kicking ourselves for not booking we decided to go for a short walk and then return in case their 10am group did not show up. They showed up at 10:05am. At that point, the owner felt bad ...
