It was not a long trip from Grande Prairie to Dawson Creek. But we did change time zones to Pacific. The days are really getting long. We go to bed at 11:00 and it is not completely dark. We don't see the sun come up but I think it comes up around 4 a.m.

Dawson Creek has a museum about the building of the Alcan Highway (now they call it …

Thursday 6/28/13

Today we drove to Dawson Creek BC to see the Mile O Alaskan Highway. It's a two-lane road with the rocky mountains in the distance. Some areas of the road remind me of Michigan. It's nice and sunny today with a temperature of 64 degrees F. It rained last night but was all clear by the time we started out this morning. …

Leaving Jasper, Alberta

Today as I getting the truck and trailer ready to leave it was about 6:30AM two campsites away (about 10 yards) I happened to notice a bear. He was a pretty big fellow. He was just going through some of that persons campsite. I told Nancy but he had left. The weather played a roll on the trip to Dawson Creek , BC. It rained from Jasper to an hour …

Our morning started in the Northern Rockies beside beautiful Muncho Lake and ended on the edge of the Canadian prairies at Mile 0 of the Alaska Highway in Dawson Creek. We were loaded and on the road before ten and hoping to catch some wildlife along the way even though we had left later than we wanted. Driving along Muncho Lake with the sun coming …

We had a beautiful sunset last night - very peaceful.

The day started with French Toast Crunch cereal...and I mean real French (see the picture). I must say it was pretty tasty for a kids cereal. We picked this up yesterday at the local store - kids had to have it.

Today was mostly driving - about 300 miles to Dawson Creek, BC. …

I would say the place was okay. Although Nancy loved the "Old Town" which sits right next to it. It is a mock version of Dawson Creek in earlier times.

Easy place to stay

We were worried about finding a spot in Dawson Creek since it was late as we pulled in and a holiday weekend. There are many spaces and it was not to crowded. The park has a few trees but no privacy. We were glad it was not to full or we all would have been on top of each other. Glad to have electricity and water. Good wifi connection and friendly staff. The park is clean and if you need to stop in Dawson Creek this is the place.

We would recommend this campground. It is right on the highway, and easy to get into. It accomodates large RV's.
