I would say the place was okay. Although Nancy loved the "Old Town" which sits right next to it. It is a mock version of Dawson Creek in earlier times.

Easy place to stay

We were worried about finding a spot in Dawson Creek since it was late as we pulled in and a holiday weekend. There are many spaces and it was not to crowded. The park has a few trees but no privacy. We were glad it was not to full or we all would have been on top of each other. Glad to have electricity and water. Good wifi connection and friendly staff. The park is clean and if you need to stop in Dawson Creek this is the place.

We would recommend this campground. It is right on the highway, and easy to get into. It accomodates large RV's.

Today was a day of exploration. The Alaska Highway was originally built as the Alcan during WWII, The highway was built as a way to connect the lower 48 states to Alaska. To do this the highway had to go through Canada. It begins at Dawson Creek and runs to Delta Junction in Alaska where it meets the Ric******* Highway. The Ric******* Highway then …

This morning we drove on to our first real destination, Mile "0" on the Alaska Highway. We made the drive passing through Beaverlodge, Alberta and their large beaver by the roadside. Before crossing into British Columbia we passed the largest wooden trestle bridge in Canada near Rochfort Bridge, Alberta.

When we arrived at Dawson Creek, we …

Today started off fairly early this morning. We left Watson Lake with cooler temps but ended up getting to 82! It was so nice out today! Actually, it was hot!! Us, Fairbanksans aren't used to that heat! The drive through British Colombia was so much better than Yukon due to us seeing animals today! The scenery is just gorgeous! The only part that …

We got up and had a nice breakfast of cereal – Cheerios; Good for your Heart. They could be sponsoring our trip and paying for the gas. We took some pictures in town and started heading north – still on BC 97 if you want to look at the map. A neat part about the drive up to Dawson Creek was we passed through many smalls towns such as …

After stopping at Tim Horton's for their wifi we took the Bighorn Hwy north towards Alaska. The first part of the ride was through a beautiful timber wildlife sanctuary but all we saw were a few deer. Grand Cache was an interesting town - at 4100 feet around 4-5 streets of houses in a semi circle around a fantastic recreation center. Grand Cache is …
