We got up and had a nice breakfast of cereal – Cheerios; Good for your Heart. They could be sponsoring our trip and paying for the gas. We took some pictures in town and started heading north – still on BC 97 if you want to look at the map. A neat part about the drive up to Dawson Creek was we passed through many smalls towns such as …

After stopping at Tim Horton's for their wifi we took the Bighorn Hwy north towards Alaska. The first part of the ride was through a beautiful timber wildlife sanctuary but all we saw were a few deer. Grand Cache was an interesting town - at 4100 feet around 4-5 streets of houses in a semi circle around a fantastic recreation center. Grand Cache is …

After averaging about 500 miles per day it was time to slow down. We did laundry, got our financial paperwork in order, got this blog going (wih wifi at the campground) and explored Dawson Creek. We enjoyed the visitor center, art gallery, railroad museum and wildlife museums. The Alaska Hwy museum was closed pending the completion of their …

It was not a long trip from Grande Prairie to Dawson Creek. But we did change time zones to Pacific. The days are really getting long. We go to bed at 11:00 and it is not completely dark. We don't see the sun come up but I think it comes up around 4 a.m.

Dawson Creek has a museum about the building of the Alcan Highway (now they call it …

Today we drove to Dawson Creek BC to see the Mile O Alaskan Highway. It's a two-lane road with the rocky mountains in the distance. Some areas of the road remind me of Michigan. It's nice and sunny today with a temperature of 64 degrees F. It rained last night but was all clear by the time we started out this morning. …

I would say the place was okay. Although Nancy loved the "Old Town" which sits right next to it. It is a mock version of Dawson Creek in earlier times.

Easy place to stay

We were worried about finding a spot in Dawson Creek since it was late as we pulled in and a holiday weekend. There are many spaces and it was not to crowded. The park has a few trees but no privacy. We were glad it was not to full or we all would have been on top of each other. Glad to have electricity and water. Good wifi connection and friendly staff. The park is clean and if you need to stop in Dawson Creek this is the place.

We would recommend this campground. It is right on the highway, and easy to get into. It accomodates large RV's.
