Leaving manitou springs 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Really enjoyed the cabin and our cozy fire last night. Always fun to be on the road again, at the same time , never quite ready to leave behind places like this. Enjoyed Mo's Diner, We have a beautiful scenic drive today from Cripple Creek to Canon. Just got a super deal on breakfast at Denny's and won a free next meal. Later...the road engulfs us ...

... day! We headed down the valley for a while which was amazing. Then we headed up and up the Monarch mountain road. We had no idea how much fun this road would be. Almost no traffic, new pavement and lots of twisties. I had goose bumps several times riding today. No listening to music today, just taking in all the sights. ... near Gunnison and Crested Butte. It is exactly what we need at this point. We are alone, total silence, black night. For the first time in our journey the landscape is not moving.


Thank you Kate, we are hunkered down for a few days. Colorado's beauty has impressed us.
