... than VT? I'm not sure yet. I'd hoped to stay a couple of days at Lake Winnipesaukee, but it's too touristy for our tastes. I'd wanted to canoe, but would probably have gotten run over by a tour boat, with tourists snapping pictures all the while. Tomorrow we'll head up through the White Mountains (there's a difference, VTs are Green) and hike for a couple of days. ...
... we don't have the power cord to our nice camera - we're stuck with a cell phone picture.
This bald eagle is actually a juvenile, and doesn't have the white head yet. We expect that next year, he'll be about 5 years old and have his white head.

well, the days in the South are over and I have meanwhile arrived in the White Mountains. The weather has been very good, even a hot day today. It won't last long, but the days to come don't look too bad either.
And so begins September! Here I am, in a resort town on a major holiday weekend, and I have had more privacy and peace and quiet than I could possibly hope to get at any time of the year...I love it!
My body had been calling for some exercise after sitting a lot the past week, but I still felt like quite a bit of solitude, so I headed up the road to the northern part of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Markus Wildlife Sanctuary and ...
