We got a wonderful map of the high peaks region of the Adirondacks and decided it would be fun to have a day hike around part of Lake Placid, and then hit the town late afternoon, just prior to dinner. We drove from the campground found the road for the trail access, and go to the end of the road to find a sign that said-Assess to Lake trail now private property.
