Day 5-7 Adirondack Mountains

... the heavy rains over the past week. Boulders and tree roots exposed everywhere. Mud up to our ankles was very common on the trail. Just leaping from boulder to wet boulder was a challenge. . It was mainly uphill and quite the work out! We passed Marcy’s Dam where loggers once used to dam to control their logging procedures long ago (now washed away by a heavy flood and never repaired). Jay had decided to try out snow-boarding which he did really well at for a first timer but after quite a few stacks he decided to change over to skis. We had been a little concerned about getting wet in our jeans and you cannot hire clothing over here but with the snow being so dry it was not ...
