... ever as the campground did not have showers. It worked surprisingly well.

On Friday, we took a day trip up the peninsula to Copper Harbor, the easternmost city on this section of the peninsula, and drove along a long section of the Lake Superior shoreline. Felt like we were driving along the Oregon coast. Lots of beautiful wooded areas, nice waterfalls, interesting wildlife.

On Saturday, we traveled west to the Porcupine ...

... It really is a great way to break from up driving if you have the time.

Baraga State Park Campground is across the street from the water and although nice for families, since it had a good playground and hiking trail right from the campground, it is on the main road and can be loud due to traffic and not a place I would recommend except for a stopover or if you were exploring this area specifically. ... Park Service has stepped in to facilitate tours and save the historical communities - very cool. Then we went to Fort Wilkins State Park which was a wooden fort build in the mid 1800s ... and then we did see very wonderful lakes (notice a pattern here) and trees and vistas and beautiful countryside.

Will be in Canada either tomorrow or Tuesday - enroute to Niagra Falls.

Stay tuned for more adventures.
