... Don Ruffiino. I had the best grilled grouper and shrimp ever...so fresh and delicious. Robin enjoyed risotto...of course we had a couple local rum beverages called Pink Ladies. Like most CR drinks, it was sweet, fruity and delicious. We learned that the Tico's love their sugar!!

We transferred to La Fortuna, a highland resort, 3 hours drive north of San Jose. The transfer was made by minibus taxi and at the end of the trip I realised that Costa Rican roads are not conducive to the suspension of these buses as every bump and unevenness, and there are plenty of those, is transmitted straight through the seat.

... so are likely not getting the best exchange when paying with US dollars). I had a quesadilla (best I've ever had) and Ben really enjoyed his tongue on a corn tortilla. He says it was "delicious, even tongue-licious." But then, he's currently half-asleep, though I believe him on its being good. I took a pass on trying any.

Tomorrow we plan to explore the volcano and (I hope) some of the wild life. I hear there may be an opportunity to milk a venomous snake.

... The first few seconds were terrifying, but then it was so fun! I was swinging on a giant rope in between the trees. It kept going back and forth and I could laugh and enjoy the thrilling ride. It was so funny to watch everyone else experience it too.

... but alas, most of us emerged still looking as if we are the retirement age that we are. Unfortunaltely, much of Arenal Volcano was covered with clouds, so it was not possible to obtain a good view or photo while we soaked in the hot springs. Maybe we will have better luck tomorrow.
