Today we drove through the center of the park. We did a short trail walk in the afternoon and then headed to Clingman's dome (6643ft high) for sunset - around 5:30. There were snow banks on the sides of the road as we drove up to Clingman's dome trailhead. At times along the way, you would see little snowmen that people would have built. ... It was still early in the afternoon as finding Enloe Creek Falls took less time than expected. So on the way back to camp, we stopped at Oconaluftee Visitor Center. We browsed the gift store for a few minutes then took a stroll around the historic farm and got some pictures of the old buildings. Across the big open field, we could see a couple of bull elk grazing but they were too far away to get a good picture. ...
