Four kilometres north of Wangi Falls, Litchfield Park Road Batchelor, Top End, Northern Territory, Australia, 0845, 618-8978-2077-
We left Melbourne this morning, and our first stop at the start of the Great Ocean Road was Torquay. We stopped at the information centre here, and the lady was really helpful advising us of campsites and the best places to stop along the way. In Torquay we had a quick stop at the Sundial of human involvement. Which was a beautiful mosaic sundial, which you stood on and your shadow should tell you the time. However, it was pretty cloudy out so it didn't seem to work for us. Next stop was the ...

Take a look at our pictures of: Tolmer Lookout, Wangi Falls, Buley Rockholes, Magnetic Terminte Mounds (the things that look like gravestones) and Florence Falls.
On our way to Kakadu, we stopped off for the Adelaide River ‘Jumping Crocodile ...
We left darwin and headed for Litchfield national park unsure as to where we would stay ended up deciding to camp at Wangi falls campground.
We drove into Batchelor and checked out the new info centre and found out that it was only $15.60 a night to stay at the Wangi falls. we got to the falls and unpacked and headed for the water it was so hot by now that a swim was most needed. Lots of people but the waterfalls waterhole was largge and heaps of room for ...

They bite you by pinching you then they curve their buts over and squirt acid into the hole. Their stings can hurt a lot at the present but as soon as you pull them off and wipe away the acid then it doesn't hurt at all.

... of rivers in the Top End and all of them are inundated with big nasty saltwater crocodiles!! Before jumping on the boat we all had a hold of a Black Headed Python. He looked like he was going to be slimy but actually the skin is amazingly smooth and soft. Needless to say a couple of minutes was enough for me!
So we jumped on the boat which had two decks and a little platform out on either side. A crew member would tie a big piece of Buffalo meat to the end of a bit of ...
Alec has done a research project on termites. This is the information he has found out by looking on the internet and from the information panels in Litchfield National Park.
We looked at the cathedral and magnetic termite hills. They were very big ...
Went to Litchfield National Park today. Started off at the magnetic termite mounds. No, they're not called 'magnetic' coz the termites like to collect watches and other metallic objects by sucking them into their hill's forcefield, no, its coz the thin hills are aligned north-south to regulate the temperature within the mound. We also posed by the impressive cathedral termite mounds, which stand over ...
Batchelor, Northern Territory, Australia steph_nicoJust had to mention this stop-off point where we had lunch before continuing our journey to our next campsite because it was one of those tacky, novelty things that I love! So we decided to stop for petrol at Adelaide River, and they have a roadhouse behind the gas station which I'd heard ...
Adelaide River, Northern Territory, Australia steph_nico... sitting area for race day.
The campsite was great and so cheap! Only $20 per night for a powered site. There was also a swimming pool for the kids and a huge bar that did meals on Thursday - Sunday.
When we arrived they were in the process of setting up the bar area for race day. There were hundreds of tables and chairs and stalls selling fast food and slushies etc. The kids thought they'd died and gone ...
