Auburn is a rather quiet southern university town, home of
Alabama’s land grant university, now named after the town. Auburn is a quite
large school in terms of enrollment with some pleasant architecture around
several quads. The town, though, seems quite dull for one with such a large

Last full day in the U.S. Before I leave for Australia. There seems to be so much to remember and prepare for the long flight, so I'm starting now! Hopefully I don't forget anything! ... to get some information. The receptionist couldn't tell me more than I already knew but I did leave my card with her. On my way out, I ran into some students in the chapel sanctuary who were a part of the Wesley Foundation and knew Rev. Bates. The tried to call while I was there but couldn't get her. I left my contact info with one of the students who said she'd see Rev. Bates tomorrow.

Not at all what I'd hoped for out of this visit but it was worth a ...

... Florida. It was very humbling to personally witness the difficult conditions that many people in our "rich" nation live in. It also gave me an even stronger admiration for the aid that my sister's charity and charities just like it give to disadvantaged people.

That evening, I went to a local establishment to watch Game 4 of the playoffs. It ended up being a great game, but the Braves lost it after a late homerun ...
