... Elijah to go to sleep prior to arriving because he was so fired up (and insistent) to see the Welcome to Massachusetts sign. Finally, around 10:45pm he fell asleep but we pulled over at the sign a little over midnight and I roused him to look out the window and see it. He said, "I'm alive!" and promptly fell back into a deep sleep.

What a day of driving in the rain. We had showers, downpours, torrents, and "pull off the road" rain today. And then we had fog added in. Not a great day for driving! Other than driving, we went to the bball hall of fame in Cooperstown. Fascinating place. Had a great time. Then on to Albany and the Quality Inn with the associated Japanese restaurant. ... Massachusetts. We crossed into Massachusetts and were welcomed to the Berkshires, I think I may have heard that names before as well with a connotation of wealth. Then we travelled some on Jacob's Ladder Trail of the Appalachian Trail. The 20 in New York where we were was called a scenic biway and we saw signs indicating Amish but didn't see an Amish horse and cart unfortunately. Also, passed a Shaker Village. This state is so rich in history.

... i was wearing. I ended up having to throw out my sweatpants, but i washed all the other articals of clothing in the sink.

I had to do that and pack really quickly as we were leaving right after lunch.
