We loved this caravan park, it's pet friendly, clean, friendly and gave us some tourism advice too. Helped guide us to our spot. Would stay here again.

Have a confession to make. Due to a little bit of over indulgence relating to alcohol , I did not get to publish yesterday's post until today. It was a battle between the blog or another tipple of the good stuff and am ashamed to say the latter won.

Cairns has one of the most comprehensive collections of Armoured Vehicles and Artillery in the Southern Hemisphere. Coop and I just had to check it out. Sue went shopping.

It was lovely laying in bed listerning to the rain on the roof, it wasn't heavy, nice and gentle. By morning it had finished, a nice cool night.
Today we are off to join the others, but first a real cup of coffee from a real machine from the shop opposite the caravan park.

Leaving Townsville and heading to Cairns, what a magnificent drive plenty to see and we were both looking forward to another part of this big country. There were alot of road works on the way but the the scenery was excellent. We stayed at Lake Placid which is about 14ks from cairns, a top tourist park situated right beneath the start of the rain …

Today we went on the train to Karanda and spent a few hours then back on the Skyrail. It was a great day. Stopped to view the Barron River falls. Had a look at the bird and butterfly displays. Back to Lake Placid park for a rest.
