Our taxi departed Aspen Square Hotel at 6:30 p.m. We took a bizarre route zigzagging through the city. There are piles of garbage all along the streets. Did the rubbish collectors go on strike? At 7:06, more than half an hour after leaving, we were stuck in traffic on a narrow cobblestone street: Bacacay at San Nicolas. There's only one traffic lane and two parking lanes. Is this really the fastest way to the airport? I’m getting seriously impatient.
