A Hiker By Any Other Name Stinks Just As Much

A travel blog entry by jwatson on Apr 04, 2015

Someone asked me about my trail name the other day in the comments, and I realized I had mentioned it on Facebook and to individual people, but I never posted it here. My trail name is Wolf Pack, because of my resemblance to Alan in the movie The Hangover, especially when I'm hiking in my aviator sunglasses. In that vein, I thought it would be fun to list some of the names of people I've met on the trail. So with no further ado: Mooch (or Brightsider, or Bread and Butter, or ...

... you should hold the memory in your mind because a photo will not capture the feeling, the smell, the insane moment when you say, "this is incredible". There are waterfalls that you can hear for miles, fresh clean water spilling out and tumbling over glistening rocks and mosses and ferns in every shade of green. The ground is covered in daffodils, trilliums, forget me knots and yes the ever present sign of spring, dandelions. The most magnificent sight is ...

I had a couple of almost-falling moments, where I windmilled my arms and tried to keep my pack from dragging me backward before jamming my ...

Menu Item: Ham & Hash brown Omelet

Notes: Came with onions and 3 buttermilk pancakes also

Comments: It was good but not as good as I hoped. There wasn't enough substance to the omelet. The pancakes were just average.

Overall Impression: Below average omelet with average ...

Menu Item: Reese’s Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Pancakes

Notes: Chocolate and peanut butter filled pancakes, smothered in peanut butter, and whipped cream

Comments: Hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. The peanut butter is real Reese’s peanut butter and makes the pancakes. The whipped cream and chocolate sauce drizzle ...
