Great facilities all things considered. Nice green grass for camping in the middle of Summer. Would stay here again.

Got up early and watched sunrise over Uluru. Was pretty cool as in one direction the sun was rising and 180 degrees the other way the moon was setting. Afterwards we drove to Kata Tjuta (aka 'The Olgas') and went for a walk. Got the option to do the long track or a shorter route. Chose to do the longer one which I enjoyed. Saw a flock of wild zebra …

Today we headed west to the Red Centre Way, a dirt road linking the West MacDonnells to Kings Canyon. Arriving at Kings Canyon resort we refuelled at 1.96c/L before driving a bit further to the actual canyon and did the Rim Walk, 6.5km of bushwalking, rock scrambling and climbing. The view was of course fabulous. Afterwards we travelled a bit …

The day of the long march had arrived.
We had come to Kings canyon to do the fabled rim walk.

The walk starts on the outer end of the west side of the Canyon with a climb known as the thousand steps.. not for the feint hearted..

Once you get to the top the view back down o the carpark is spectacular and shows …

We had an early start to our Monday morning, bags in hand we stood outside our hostel at 6am awaiting our transport into the heart of Australia. There were a few other people stood with us outside, also on the Emu Run tour. There was a Dutch guy called Rodger, and a Malaysian girl who we called Malay during the entire trip because no one could …
