... If I ever had my own hostel I would love it too look like this place. I took so many photos of the place basically just to show people look at where we stayed and only for 6 pounds a night. The small number of staff where extremely helpful with heaps of courtesy and politeness to boot. There was only 7 other guests stayinng there it was like our secret little place. 05/07/09 Our guide Ben met us at 9am and took us to breakfast. He is quite the character. He is like a walking encyclopedia when it comes to the jungle and he is full of jokes and loves to sing but only knows about one verse of every song he sang and not the chorus. He brought us leech socks so when we went trekking we wouldn't pick up leeches. I didn't want leeches but Jessie did. ... were re-nested and finally we got the chance to see 43 hatchlings being released into the sea. It was amazing to share such intimate moments with one of natures most ancient creatures but also very funny to see the hatchlings racing down the beach quicker than Carl Davis going after a free Ginster's cornish pasty! ... we've stayed are a bit dodgy - bed bugs came out of the walls to eat us at night. Today we caught a taxi (texsi in Malay) and it was like the venga bus - big subwoofers in the back and leopard print seat covers. The driver wants to find a girlfriend, so we're taking him clubbing tonight in Sandakan. The markets have some pretty wierd food ...
