    Sunny Seward

    Hi from Sunny Seward,

Well, travelling west, Alaska has continued to fascinate us. Snowy mountains and glaciers by the sea make for great scenery, especially when the sun shines.

We spent 2 wet days in the small smoke of Anchorage but did not feel the 6.5 earthquake we had there.

My hairdresser there said she could only get to visit her family inland by plane or mushing!! Actually most of the pet dogs ...

... I need to switch over… I look at the refrigerator… and its gas light is good… So I light a burner on the stove and its fine… So I need to get out the volt meter and figure out what’s up… An hour later I decide that the circuit board (module) is bad… everything else checks out… the module sees the call for heat… doesn’t turn on the gas and then try’s to spark and start the burner… A test of the coils ...

We have to be in Seward by 9am so we get going early. The hour long drive is beautiful. The sky is cloudy and grey and rain pelts the car intermittently, but the scenery is amazing. Flowing creeks, marshy lakes dripping with lily pads, and snow capped peaks that the clouds drift in and around like ghosts. When ...

... 30 inches and weighed in at 15 lbs along with 3 black sea base and then he caught the biggest Cod, which almost out weight his halibut. Kimmie caught the most fish, Christy caught the biggest sea bass, and she also caught herself a halibut at 33 inches and about 17 lbs, once she was able to wake up from her cabin nappy. (I was glad she felt better and was excited to see her catch some fish). I caught fish along ...

I experienced a water taxi rescue!

That's right. My latest kayaking adventure included a surprise water taxi rescue!! On Sunday my friend Jennifer and I decided to go on the Caines head kayak and hike day trip. It included about 10 miles of kayaking and 5 miles of hiking. It was a perfect day! Mid 60s and sunny. The water was calm when we started and we kayaked quicker than I expected. After leaving Tonsina point though the wind picked up and at times we were literally kayaking just ...
