    SEWARD, SEPTEMBER 17, 2015

After a good nights sleep we boarded our bus and went to the train station which is right next to the airport. This train is known as the cruise train because it takes all the cruise passengers from Anchorage to Seward. All the cruise ships that do upper Alaska leave from the Seward Port except Princess. This train carries over 400 people back and forth between Seward ...

But we had a great view of the Hubbard Glacier yesterday. The ship went in really close. We are at the end of our first section of the cruise and had a lovely dinner farewelling some people from Darfield last night. They are off home today while our adventure continues. Im (again) sitting in a lovely warm coffee shop- the connections are much better. I'm surrounded by mountains I can't see. I don't think Alaska is for me! They say the Japanese wifi is ...

Our three-hour ferry journey across Prince William Sound from Valdez to Whittier was cancelled due to bad weather (rain and 50mph winds), so we had to put up with an eleven hour van journey through some of the world's finest scenery instead. The pouring rain of our departure dried up after an hour, and then the sun came out, giving us good views of glaciers, woods and mountains, the changing ...

    Hi from Sunny Seward,

Well, travelling west, Alaska has continued to fascinate us. Snowy mountains and glaciers by the sea make for great scenery, especially when the sun shines.

We spent 2 wet days in the small smoke of Anchorage but did not feel the 6.5 earthquake we had there.

My hairdresser there said she could only get to visit her family inland by plane or mushing!! Actually most of the pet dogs ...

    Russian River

We spent the past two days camping in the Sate Park and fishing where the Russian River and Kenai River meet. You can actually see the bright turquoise water of the Kenai meet the muddy Russian. Interesting!
On our way we stopped off at a restaurant called The Summit. Obviously the restaurant was at the summit of a mountain. They are not too big here in the south of Alaska, not after the 6,000 ft of mountain range in Canada. At any rate we stopped at The Summit and had the ...
