... cluster thing. Bread and waffles as required. It was cloudy and rain threatened as we headed north towards Jeffersonville via the Smuggler"s Notch Pass. To read the guide books would lead you to believe this was a hairy drive; the reality is, it's tame and well tarmac'd. Trees there were in plenty, but recent rains and winds seem to have stripped many of them already with the result that the usual colourful display was ...

... through Bartlett and then up and over Bear Notch Road this time NOT in the rain. We then attempted to do the half of the Kancamagus which we did not do the day before. The day was wearing thin and it was later than I had planned so we decided to maximize what we really wanted to do which was Sabbaday Falls. It was a Sunday at peak on the Kanc and it was FULL. I am shocked we even got a parking space with how crazy it was. But we were able ...

... a text through suggesting we meet at Garwoods on Main Street. She arrived a half hour later and although parking was rough there she managed to find something in the public lot. Garwoods was a great choice for a meal. It had a lovely second floor overlook of the lake and we could see leaves blowing past as it rained outside. I had the fabulous lobster bisque and fish and chips. It was a lovely lunch catching up after ...
