The Apollo/Saturn Centre
We alighted at the Apollo/Saturn Centre where we stood and waited for a while and then the doors were opened and in we went to a large theatre where we watched a screen about the early space program. Then we went into another theatre with seating a la bleacher style and laid out in front was the actual consoles of the Control Room.
Hired a car for day 1 really just so we could go see Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaverel and well, get over jetlag.
First experience of Interstates and my, don't they all drive fast and not look much when they are changing lanes!
KSC wonderful day out. Big engines, big rockets and a two hour coach ...
We took the approximately 2 hour trip over Cape Canaveral to visit the Kennedy Space Centre. When we arrived we were informed that there are no tours due to the US Government shut down. I was a little disappointed as I wanted to see the launch pad.
We still visited the sights around the complex and found them all interesting. Even the "Space Station" movie in 3D was great. ...
Well our journey starts tomorrow morning! Kristen and I are both excited and anxious. Today is being spent tying up loose ends and putting those last minute items in our suitcases. We've been told this blog sight is not blocked in China so my plan is to journal here daily to share my experiences and upload some pictures! I hope you visit often!
