... gloves, an astronaut suite repair kit and a whole range of “stuff”. We ate lunch in the café because we thought that it would be bedlam at the main centre - salad for me and coffee, sandwich for Doug and half a banana each.





We walked through the souvenir shop – toys etc were very expensive but there were some quality items for sure as well as some astronaut food - freeze dried icecream for example.

Hired a car for day 1 really just so we could go see Kennedy Space Centre, Cape Canaverel and well, get over jetlag.

First experience of Interstates and my, don't they all drive fast and not look much when they are changing lanes!

He explained how he had space walked 4 times. He was the first person to use a jet pack on his back to control himself trialling it out for NASA. Our next stop was The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC). The race to the moon is not history to me. I can remember cutting out newspaper clipping of all the different missions on our way to the moon. Right now, I am thinking about that July day when we all watched on our black & white TV's (I know hard to believe it no color HD) to see what was one of the greatest achevements in the history of the human race.
