Justin and I absolutely loved housekeeping camp.

First of all, location: Housekeeping camp is deep in Yosemite Valley, and from our tent, we could see Upper Yosemite Falls, and it's literally five minutes from a shuttle bus stop.

In Housekeeping camp, you stay in a tent-like contraption. You have a canvas roof/door, and the rest of the "room" is concrete. Inside the tent are a set of bunk-beds, and a double bed. You do need to bring your own linens or a sleeping bag, but you can also rent linens there.

Outside the tent is a picnic bench, some shelves, and a bear locker. The tent also has electricity, so bring a power-strip like we did.

Housekeeping Camp itself has a sandy beach on the river to swim in, a small store that has basically everything you may need, as well as hot coffee/tea/chocolate.

There are also showers. Downside, as a girl, the line is longer and takes forever to even get in the showers. Personally, I found the showers a bit gross. The stall I was in was covered in hair. But the shower itself was very hot, and has a nice little changing area before the shower... I would advise bringing sandals or shower shoes. Hubby says the mens' showers are much cleaner than the girls' showers.

There is also a huge laundry room.

Housekeeping itself is cult-like, people come year after year and decorate their tent with Christmas lights, chairs, you name it, they probably have it, so if you stay make sure to pimp out your tent.

Parking is plenty. There are plenty of clean bathrooms, as well.

Also, you can use the pool at Curry Village, for free, but we didn't have time to check it out.

We can't wait to go back. We had an amazingly fun experience there, and look forward to going back, in the somewhat near future, and staying longer.

... one beautiful spot on to the next! At Lambert Dome we parked our car to have a short walk to the enormous rock. The view on the other side of the road reveals a beautiful view of Tuolumne Meadows. Everywhere along the route we found beautiful viewing points, it would take a whole day to visit them all. The view point at Amstead Point however is one, which not must be skipped. It is worth to climb down the rocks ...

... and bundled ourselves into the van once again. We had a free day in Yosemite Valley to do what we wished. After the previous day and rather sore heels i decided to take it a little easier. Kirsty and i went to check out if we could go horseriding but it was booked out. Instead we rented a raft and did a lazy day rafting down the Merced river enjoying the water and sunshine and just generally lazing about getting nearly smacked in the head a few times ...
