... it as Jago would never have forgiven me. So settled for lunch and a swim in the sea instead. For dinner we struck gold. We were lucky to get a table at Tipico. The staff were great, everyone in the kitchen even the washing up lady seemed to be enjoying themselves. The guy at the bar usually ate there but was today filling in as his friend was sick and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. We all agreed it was our best meal so ...

... point from Italy. So we bid farewell to ham products three times a day as our slow ferry lived up to its billing with a chug out into the Adriatic Sea. The town of Rovinj was alive and buzzing when we arrived at 9.30pm. A local group was singing very loudly on a stage by the water. People were drinking, dinning and wandering the streets. ... We head back to town and walk around the old city - amazed at the lack of people. There has was a concert in the amphitheater and would be another one tonight, which made access inside impossible but we were able to walk around and look inside and even listen to the band rehearsing.

Finally we wander back and sit and read on the patio of the bar next door to the hotel.

We have an early bus in the morning, so we turn in early

Got up early today and headed out of fažana today with some great direction via Ivan ( gonna miss that guy ) to see the roman colosseum in pula today as well as many more roman era sites in the town. Pula is a busy city of about 70,000 with a huge history dating back over 3000 years. The colosseum is the obvious major draw here and it's clear why... The arena is in better shape than its much more famous sister in Rome although it's still in use...they were setting up ...

... 1940's and WWII .... Today it's a artistic community and tourist attraction. Rightly so with 360 deg views of the entire valley ..pretty awesome. It's a steep hike up a path to get to the top...no ADA accessibility here...we saw several old men and women wobbling up the mishmash of stone steps with canes... We walked the walls surrounding the town and and after an hour or so headed back. We headed east-ish to Pazin which was a strategic city during ...
